What is the difference between Virgin & Remy hair?

The term “Virgin” means the hair is unprocessed and free of hair dye or chemicals.  All cuticles are retained in its original healthy state.
“Remy” means all cuticles of the hair are guaranteed to be in the same direction, which eliminates the likelihood of tangling.

Virgin Hair is the most luxurious form of hair extension on the market. Each bundle can vary slightly in texture, wave pattern, and color since it comes from different donors. NO two bundles are exactly the same

• Caring for Virgin Hair is no different from caring for your natural hair. Our Virgin Hair is the closest you will find to your natural hair.

• Which hair texture will match the texture of African American hair?

Our Kinky Straight and Kinky Curly textures can achieve this.  These textures were steam processed with the purpose of mimicking ethnic hair grades so that it blends seamlessly with African American hair.

• What does the term “wefted” mean?

Wefted hair is hair used for weaving. It is sewn or bonded (with special bonding glue) into a track/braid ready for the weaving process. A weft looks like a curtain or hair stitched together along the top.

• Can the weft be cut?

Yes. Our wefts can be cut without unraveling, however we do not suggest cutting the weft as this can cause the hair to shed unnecessarily. If you must cut the wefts during the install, make sure the wefts are sealed prior using a weft sealant.

• Does this hair shed?

All forms of wefted hair will experience minimal shedding to some degree. This can be shedding of singular strands as the hair being combed and styled, however this should not cause a severe decrease in appearance or density.

• How much hair do I need?

The rule of thumb for most hair providers is the longer the length, the more bundles may be needed. This will also depend on the style that is going to be achieved as well as the client’s preference, however please see the following recommendations as this will help to guide you when making a purchase:

2 or more bundles for lengths 12-16”

3 or more bundles for lengths 18-24”

4 or more bundles for lengths 26-30”

5 or more bundles for lengths 30”-Above

•How much hair is provided in each bundle?

Each bundle is approximately 3.3-3.5oz.

•Will each weft be the same length?

We strive to create all wefts equally between lengths, which means the lengths of 18” bundles should match each other.

• Does the hair have a natural lustre?

Absolutely!! The hair appears natural because it is!! Once installed, this hair can be treated as normal human hair that has grown from your scalp. This means that all lifestyle activities can be done while wearing our hair: swimming, exercising, sailing, dancing… you name it!! With proper installation, our hair will mimic the frequency of your natural born hair. Our hair can be worn comfortably for months and with proper installation and maintenance, can also be used as a protective style which can promote natural hair growth.

• Can I color this hair?

Yes, this is 100% virgin human hair that is not processed in any way which means you can color the hair. Once virgin hair is manipulated by color systems, bleaching, or any chemicals  it is no longer virgin. To prevent unnecessary damage to the hair we recommend that you color or process your Virgin hair by a professional.

•Does #613 Blonde Hair require special care?

Yes. When hair is bleached, the hair will become fragile and easier to break off due to the hair bonds being broken. 613 Hair will require weekly or bi weekly co-washing.

Co-washing is the act of washing your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. Washing your hair with shampoo can strip the hair of it’s naturals oils causing the hair to become dry and brittle. For all of our extensions, we advise using a hydrating, paraben-free shampoo monthly or every 3 weeks to cleanse the hair. Co-washing the hair in between will preserve the hair’s natural vitality and bounce.

• What type of hair care products should I use?

Treat this hair like your own hair. Use a good quality paraben-free shampoo and conditioning product. Conditioning your hair is very important to keep it soft and manageable. We recommend using a deep conditioner on your virgin hair once per week. While wet use a dime sized amount of hair serum like Moroccanoil or BioSilk and allow or air dry.  I’d blow drying, add a light-weight heat protectant spray in addition to the serum to damp hair and proceed to blowdry.

• Do I have to do anything special at night?

You should NEVER sleep on wet hair. Sleeping on wet hair is known to matte hair.  Make sure your hair is completely dry and wrapped in a silk bonnet or scarf— this will help to preserve your hair. For curled hairstyles, rolling your hair in rods at night will maintain your curls and limit the amount of heat you have to use on your hair daily.

• How often can I wash my hair?

It is advised you co-wash your hair at least once per week.

• How long does the hair last?

This hair can last for a very long time depending on how you maintain it. Treat it like your own hair and take good care of it and it could last up to 12 months. Depending on maintenance, hair will last 6 months to a year.

Here are just a few suggestions for daily care. Following these tips will help keep your hair extensions looking healthy, manageable, and vibrant!!

• Styling Tools: It's very important to use a wide tooth or paddle back brush in gentle strokes when washing and or styling the hair. Small tooth and retail combs can snag the hair which can cause unwanted shedding.

• Washing Your Hair: The key to long lasting extensions is keeping them clean. Before washing your hair extensions, brush your hair and remove all tangles and knots. Next, wet a small portion of hair at the time and use a good conditioner, and a rich moisturizer. After washing and conditioning your hair, apply a good leave-in conditioning product— this will help to keep your hair super soft and moist.

• Wavy & Curly Hair: If you have wavy or curly textured hair extensions and plan to wear the in its natural state, you will need to apply a curl defining or curl control cream while the hair is wet. Once applied, seal it with any serum of your choice such as Moroccanoil or Biosilk and this will stop the hair from frizzing once it air dries. You may also lock the hair in place instantly by incorporating a diffuser!! This will give you the same look of defined, air-dried hair while also allowing you to add more volume.
